Indian travellers planning a Bhutan holiday in September or early October 2026 should prepare for an extended monsoon and possible interruptions on some road routes. Bhutan's National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast that parts of the country may experience continued rainfall until the middle of October. The monsoon usually withdraws by the end of September, but weather officials expect it to remain longer than normal this year. This does not mean that travel across Bhutan has stopped. However, visitors entering by road or travelling between destinations should keep their plans flexible, follow official weather and road updates, and allow additional travel time.
